Eknath Giram

Eknath Giram is a young artist, who has slowly carved a niche for his figurative style in mainstream art. His distinctive style is expressionist semi-abstract figurative, with elongated necks and figures, oft likened to that of Italian painter Modigliani.

Using Krishna and his tales as his central theme, the artist communicates his thought processes through muted shades and subtle tonal variations that anoint the canvases with a depth of understanding and lend tangibility to the works of art. Eknath believes that Krishna is the embodiment of everything that is aakarshak (desirable and attractive). His paintings reflect the moods, episodes from the life and times of Krishna or other imagery that is associated with the narrative of Krishna.

An alumnus of Kala Mahavidyalaya Pune, Giram has trained in drawing and painting and in art education and works very adeptly with various mediums.
