Arun Samadder
Born in the year 1948, Arun hails from Kolkata. He has a Diploma in Visual Art from Rabindra Bharati University Kolkata in 1979-80. Since 1975 he has participated in various group exhibitions held nationally and Internationally, in Kolkata, New Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Indonesia, Dubai, Bangkok and Singapore
He believes that every artistic creation is a divine beauty by itself. He chooses to depict Indian mythology as a subject for his art because of its vastness and relevance with our day-to-day life especially the Mahabharata. He finds that it gives a generous overview of the ancient Indian culture and also the fact that it is so much more animated. Through his strong visual statement, he takes us back into his old heritage. He attempts to arouse the spiritual and religious side of humans to keep them grounded and have faith in power beyond control.
